Today was my 1st day in my apprenticeship. I
think kids in Kenya don’t go to school past middle school because they don’t
get a good enough education so they might not know enough to get past middle
school. I also learned that it costs 30 dollars for 1 child to go to school;
that’s a lot!

Hi my name is Janadya and I think we should help raise
money because I would like for most of
the kids to go to school. The reason why
we should also do this is so all the kids can go to school and get a good
education so please try to support the GIRLS U.N.I.T.E because if this was you would want your
education instead of spending your day cleaning up all day! My first blog.

Girls that can’t go to
school in Kenya probably don’t have the same knowledge as boys do so
they probably are made fun of. I think it is so random that girls can’t go to
school in Kenya. People should actually
let girls go to school because it’s not fair.
Boys get all the smartness.

I do not know why
only boy’s go to school in the 21st century.
In Kenya, the girls help their families.
But if you can’t go to school, how do they get a job?!

Today was my first day at GIRLS U.N.I.T.E. We have set a goal
to TRY TO raise $400 to $500. I am glad to be in this apprenticeship because I feel like I am doing something good
with my life.

It’s Markisha blogging from my first day at my Girls
U.N.I.T.E on 9/26/2012. Today I learned a lot about Kenya that I didn’t already
know. Kenya, I think is a very
opinionated country with different beliefs like boys need to learn more or
become more educated than girls because the girls are there to do chores around
the house while the boys are there getting their education. I personally think
that boys should get their education but it is equally important for girls to
get education because they need to be successful. If I could change anything in
not just this America but our world itself is to make our education for girls
better and permanently amazing. I also think it is pretty rude that people
believe just because those kids are
girls they don’t deserve to get a good education. Well I’m not those people, I’m crazy
wonderful beautiful me along with all girls in the world so I WILL make a
difference no matter what.

Today, I went to a new class and it’s called girls
U.N.I.T.E. Also, I learned that girls from Kenya don’t really go to
school. Then, some kids from Kenya wear
uniforms and some usually don’t. Kenya
kids don’t have a lot of school supplies and some usually don’t. In Kenya, when kids get in trouble they don’t
get in trouble they get beatings like getting hit with a ruler stick all the
time. Also, boys always get to go to
school and learn something but girls don’t get education which some people
think that girls can make something out of themselves and learn something new
just like boys.

Today was my first
day of Girls U.N.I.T.E - the apprenticeship I chose.
It was really fun because I’m in a class with my best
friends Nana and Donique.
Now, I know more about girls in Kenya I feel really bad for them. I think they should
have a better life than this mess. But I
mean it is what it is. I always want a new something that came out but they
aren’t even able to go to go to awesome stores like Aeropostale, Apple,
etc. They are not even able to get a
phone. So sad.

My first day in Girls U.N.I.T.E. It is really fun and makes you want to smile.
I also like it because I get to help and raise money for the kids in Kenya and
see my friends and get to work with them to raise money for the girls in Kenya
which is a really smart and good thing to do.

My name is Zyon and this is my first blog. Most of my
blogs are going to be about Kenya. I
will talk about how Kenya doesn’t have as much as we do.
We go to school and they can’t afford it most of the
time. If they don’t go to school, they
stay home and work. That’s why we should be more grateful when we have these
things. I sometimes wonder if I could make a difference and now I can so if you
can, would you, could you donate something. We should all make a difference
about this thing with no girls going to school. It disrespectful and some of us
want to have good educations to make money travel around the world and help our
communities and people in need. I’ll see
you next week and tell you more thank you.

Thursday Apprenticeship.
It was fun. One similarity about
Kenya and Durham is that at Neal we have to wear a uniform and in Kenya they
have to wear a uniform. One difference
about Kenya and Durham is that when we fish here we use fishing rods, but in
Kenya they use sticks to fish. I think
more girls in Kenya should go to school than more boys, it is not right. Girls
in Kenya don’t go to school because they do chores at their house.
